How are Prize Pools and Jackpot Pools calculated?

For each ticket purchase, the total USD amount is split as follows: 5% goes to maintenance, 10% to profit, 5% to the jackpot pool, 5% to the next raffle's prize pool, and 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction covers Stripe fees. The remaining amount is added to the current raffle's prize pool. The jackpot pool accumulates 5% from every transaction across all raffles until a jackpot raffle is triggered, at which point the entire jackpot pool is added to the prize pool for that raffle.

What is a Thomance Transaction?

A Thomance transaction, is when a user makes any kind of transaction on our simulated exchange, these are as followed: Buying Pi, Selling Pi, Having a Buy order execute, and having a sell order Execute.

How are raffle tickets generated?

When you purchase a ticket package or claim a free entry, the number of tickets you receive is recorded in our database under your user ID for the current raffle. For example, purchasing a 5-ticket package adds 5 tickets to your entry for that raffle. Each ticket represents one chance to win.

How is the winning raffle ticket calculated?

When the raffle ends, we calculate the total number of tickets purchased by all participants. We then use a cryptographically secure random number generator to select a winning ticket number between 1 and the total number of tickets. This ensures a fair and unbiased selection process.

How do we match the winning ticket to the correct person?

Each ticket is assigned to a user in our database. We assign ticket numbers sequentially as entries are made. For example, if User A buys 3 tickets and User B buys 2 tickets, User A's tickets are numbered 1-3, and User B's tickets are numbered 4-5. If the winning ticket number is 4, we look up the ticket range in the database and match it to User B.

How is the prize paid out?

The prize pool is denominated in USD at the time of the raffle draw. When the winner is selected, we use the entire USD amount from the prize pool to purchase Pi at the current market price at the time of payout. This means the amount of Pi you receive will differ from the displayed amount during the raffle, as it depends on the price of Pi when the payout is processed. Additionally, the final amount may vary due to various fees from platforms such as Stripe, Pi Network, exchanges, and other transaction costs.

What do I need to receive my prize?

To receive your prize, you must have a valid official Pi Network Wallet. We will transfer the Pi directly to your wallet after purchasing it with the prize pool USD. Please ensure your wallet is set up and verified to avoid delays in receiving your prize.
